Product Description:
The AKD2G-SPE-6V03S-A100-0000 is a servo drive manufactured by Kollmorgen and supplied within the AKD2G Servo Drives series. As a second-generation AKD drive, it provides closed-loop control for synchronous or induction servomotors used in automated machinery, packaging lines, and material-handling equipment. The unit converts AC line power into a regulated, high-bandwidth output for precise velocity, torque, and position control. Its integrated digital control architecture processes motion commands and motor feedback in real time, allowing the connected axis to respond accurately to changing loads and operating conditions.
The drive has a rated armature current of 3 A RMS and operates from a universal mains supply of 120/240 VAC, single- or three-phase. This input range allows control panels to use common industrial power sources without changes to the drive hardware. Motion commands and diagnostic data are exchanged over EtherCAT, supporting deterministic cycle times in multi-node networks. The hardware uses a single-axis topology, concentrating its power and feedback resources on one motor channel. The enclosure provides IP20 protection, which helps prevent accidental contact with internal electrical parts but does not protect against water. The drive must therefore be installed inside a suitable control cabinet.
Application sequences can be stored and executed through the position indexer with motion tasks, reducing the need for a separate controller during straightforward indexing operations. Discrete interfacing is handled by the standard X21 I/O set, which provides configurable digital connections for limit switches, probes, and sequence triggers. When connected to compatible safety relays, the integrated STO and safe inputs with SIL 2 and PL d ratings can remove motor torque within 10 ms while fieldbus communication remains active. This arrangement allows status information to remain available after the torque-producing output has been disabled. The unit carries MAP Revision A, associating it with the corresponding printed circuit board layout and component configuration. Its standard printed circuit board configuration supports consistent integration across machines that use the same drive model.
