Product Description:
The AKD2G-SPE-6V12S-A1F3-0000 is an AC servo drive manufactured by Kollmorgen for the AKD2G Servo Drives series. This second-generation AKD drive is intended for single-axis control of permanent-magnet motors in industrial automation. The unit integrates a position indexer with motion tasks, allowing it to execute stored motion profiles without constant PLC intervention. Its IP20 housing is designed for installation in a protected control cabinet.
This model communicates through EtherCAT, allowing synchronous cycle times while maintaining distributed-clock accuracy. The power section accepts a nominal 120/240 VAC single-phase or three-phase supply at common mains frequencies of 50 or 60 Hz. Under continuous load, it delivers a rated output of 12 Arms, and it can supply up to 30 Arms per phase during short acceleration events. A pulse-width modulation stage operating at 15 kHz shapes the motor current to minimize torque ripple and audible noise. Internal regeneration circuitry dissipates 100 W continuously, protecting the DC bus when decelerating high-inertia loads. The standard printed circuit board construction supports the drive’s control and power electronics. The X23 I/O option adds discrete inputs and outputs for local machine functions.
Safety features include STO and safe inputs certified to SIL 2 and PL d, allowing motion to be stopped without disconnecting mains power. The braking circuit can absorb a peak power of 9 kW during brief regenerative events, reducing prolonged stress on the connected resistor. The housing measures 76 mm wide, 235 mm high, and 221 mm deep, providing a narrow profile for cabinet installation. Its total mass is 2.4 kg, which reduces the load placed on the mounting panel. The drive can operate at up to 85 percent relative humidity when installed in a suitable protected enclosure. Heat generated during operation is removed through natural convection across the aluminum case. The narrow housing also permits additional AKD2G units to be mounted side by side when the required ventilation clearances are maintained.
