Product Description:
The 5C2002.02 is an integrated controller and operator panel manufactured by B & R Automation within the 5C2 Compact Processors series. The unit combines a CPU, memory, communication ports, and a color touchscreen in one housing so it can execute machine logic, display process data, and accept operator input on the factory floor. This arrangement keeps control and local visualization together in a single panel-mounted device, which helps reduce the need for separate interface hardware. Program and recipe files are stored on a CompactFlash Type I card, and the hardware also provides one parallel port and one serial port for legacy peripherals.
The controller uses a 80486DX5-133 MHz processor, providing enough clock speed for deterministic task scheduling and onboard visualization. Its working memory is 32 MB of DRAM, which supports local data buffering and program execution without frequent flash access. A 10.4 in color TFT panel serves as the embedded HMI, and its resistive touchscreen allows finger or stylus input while the 256-color display helps distinguish machine states. Network connectivity is provided through an Ethernet interface that operates at 10 Mbit/s over twisted-pair cabling for links to PLC networks or supervisory systems. The integrated display and controller allow operating screens to react directly to internal process data without requiring a separate HMI terminal.
The unit draws 20.1 W during normal operation and accepts a 24 V DC supply, so it can run directly from standard control-cabinet power buses. The aluminum front plate has an IP65 rating, which means the display surface is dust-tight and resists low-pressure water jets when the unit is installed from the front. Panel dimensions are 310 mm wide, 236 mm high, and 78 mm deep, allowing installation in compact operator stations while leaving space behind the cabinet door for wiring. Heat output is moderate, so the processor and memory can operate without active fans in typical enclosure temperatures. The sealed front also helps the device suit operator areas where dust or occasional water spray may be present.
