The MPS Power Supply Units comprise DC power supply modules used in Okuma motion control systems to feed one or more MIV inverter units with both the main 300 VDC bus and a 24 VDC control supply.
The MPS variant is the power-regeneration type, intended for systems that include a spindle drive motor, and it exchanges operating data with the MIV through the converter link. Unit naming reflects regeneration method and capacity, with MPS models offered in multiple continuous power classes (for example 10, 20, 30, 45, and 60 kW) to match the connected drive demand. For operation and service, the front panel provides a 7-segment status/alarm display plus indicators for DC-bus charge and 24 V power errors to help isolate supply and protection faults. Maintenance and replacement practices are based on using the same unit type, observing the DC-bus discharge delay before accessing terminals, and keeping the MPS controller-ID switch settings in the required position for normal operation.
