The MPS45A model provides high operational stability due to its maintenance-free operations and high efficiency. The module is a part of the MSC products family and is commonly used with several motion control systems. The MPS DC power supply module consists of a power board, terminal blocks, control boards, radiation fin, IGBT, and two cooling fans. Several electrolytic capacitors and insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) are placed in this model. The unit is a power regeneration type power supply unit widely used to supply power to the attached MIV units. The supply module uses a converter link for sharing data and developing communication between the MPS module and the MIV module. The MIV modules operating with the main spindle motors are allowed to be used together with the MPS supply module. The unit MPS45A comes with two cooling fans that operate at 24 VDC power and assist in controlling the overall temperature of the system. The MPS module is not protected against water jets.
