Product Description:

Okuma MPR unit is a DC power supply of the resistor regeneration type that allows the Motion Control System (MCS) inverter units to receive control power of 24 VDC and 300 VDC, respectively. For systems without spindle drive motors but having axis drive motors, it is used in conjunction with MIV devices that interact with a converter link.

To precisely regulate the axis drive motors, CNC machine tools like lathes and machining centers rely on the power supply. For reliable and effective operation of the machine's motion control components, the supply unit supplies constant DC power and manages regenerative energy through resistor-based dissipation. For easy monitoring and troubleshooting, it has a 7-segment LED screen that shows operating status and problems. The power supply includes an additional 24 V power fault indication bulb and a DC bus-charged status indicator to alert users to issues such as overvoltage or overcurrent. Mounted vertically, the MPR unit's resistor regeneration unit and heat sink on the back side maximize heat dissipation. To ensure the terminals are protected during operation, they are covered with plastic. To ensure optimal machine functioning, the MPR supply can supply DC power and control signals through connections to numerous MIV units.

Both the MPR5 and MPR10 PU models are available with continuous power supply capacities ranging from 5 kW (6.7 hp) to 10 kW (13.3 hp). When it comes to regulating axis drive motors, both types are built to last and are perfect for industrial automation applications. The MPR DC power supply is an essential component of CNC machine tools that guarantees dependable and accurate operation in a wide range of industrial settings by powering and controlling the axis drive motors.
