The MPS30 is a DC power supply unit produced by Okuma and placed in the MPS Power Supplies series. Installed in CNC control cabinets, the module converts incoming AC power into stabilized DC rails for servo amplifiers while also supplying an auxiliary logic feed. Integrated monitoring circuits supervise line conditions and coordinate regenerative braking so that motion axes can return excess energy to the mains instead of dissipating it as heat. By separating the drive bus from the control supply, the unit supports both motion power delivery and low-voltage cabinet functions within one enclosure.

Electrically, the supply uses a three-phase mains connection and is rated for 30 kW of continuous throughput. Its main bus provides 300 VDC for servo drives, while a secondary rail of 24 VDC supports PLC and sensor logic. The built-in regeneration circuit uses a power-regeneration type design, channeling deceleration energy back to the AC source and reducing panel heat. Protective logic issues an alarm if the incoming voltage exceeds 253 Vrms, and the unit requires a two-minute wait after power-off before it is energized again so internal capacitors can discharge. System status is shown on a 7-segment LED with two selectable display modes that switch between output voltage and fault codes for quick operating checks.

The housing has a width of 150 mm, a depth of 325 mm, and a height of 380 mm, allowing the chassis to fit beside servo amplifiers on standard DIN rails or mounting plates. Field wiring terminates on an M4 terminal block that accepts ring lugs without additional adapters, which helps keep cabinet connections direct and secure. At 11.8 kg, the enclosure remains manageable during installation, while its steel frame adds rigidity near vibrating machinery. The layout keeps airflow paths clear and supports the fan-assisted cooling required during full electrical load without external ducting.
