Okuma is a famous manufacturer of advanced and sustainable products for industrial and commercial sectors. Its wide range of products includes DC power supply units, machine control units, and encoders.
The MPS60 model is a part of the Okuma motion control system (MCS) and is designed to operate together with an inverter module. The MPS DC power supply module weighs around 25 kg and the external enclosure dimensions are 380 mm height, 300 mm width, and 325 mm depth. The model operates on the feature of power regeneration and the unit capacity of this MPS module is 60 kW. The unit supplies dc power (24 – 300 V) through its dc bus terminals. The unit can be attached to the main power source through an electromagnetic contactor and AC reactor. The MPS DC power supply module communicates through a converter link and can be attached to more than one MIV module. The system operating with main spindle motors is allowed to use the MPS module. The unit is protected against solid particles, but it will not provide any resistance against liquids due to its reduced protection category. Two cooling fans are installed at the top of the supply module that assists in controlling the overall temperature of the enclosure.
The model MPS60 comes with a 2-digit seven-segment LED display for showing errors and several other indicators are also installed in this model. A monitor terminal is provided in this unit to analyze the waveform of input voltage. The unit type is mentioned at the front of the module and the controller ID switch is also provided in this model.
