MSM IndraDyn S Synchronous Motors

Rexroth IndraDyn S MSM motors are compact synchronous servo motors designed for high dynamic response and are commonly used with Rexroth IndraDrive systems.

They use an optical single-turn or multi-turn absolute encoder for precise position feedback, offer IP54 protection, and can be equipped with an integrated holding brake and separate power/encoder connectors. The MSM family spans multiple frame sizes and performance levels, with continuous power ranging from roughly 50 to 750 W, continuous torque from about 0.16 to 2.4 Nm, peak torque up to about 7.1 Nm, and maximum speeds up to 5,000 rpm (depending on size). For installation and operation, the motors are intended for machines and installations with an ambient operating range of 0–40 °C (with derating required above that up to 55 °C), and they support standard flange mounting positions such as IM B5, IM V1, and IM V3. Mechanically, the plain-shaft variants are intended for backlash-free friction-locked hub connections using clamping elements, the motor bearing system is specified for a nominal L10h life of 20,000 hours when shaft loads stay within limits, and the holding brake is externally supplied with typical brake backlash of ±1° or less after motion and a very high allowable number of accel/decel cycles.
