Product Description:
The HCM series module HCMC03MC-0B is developed by B & R Automation, for register-level communication across the automation systems. It uses a 68030-processing unit that runs at 33 MHz of frequency and it also features a 68882 floating-point unit for added processing accuracy. This unit includes 10 MB DRAM and 0.5 MB SRAM for runtime operations.
The HCMC03MC-0B module utilizes 24 V DC from the rack power supply and it supports direct integration with Siemens S5 as well as S7 PLCs. It includes two serial interfaces for external device communication, the IF1 port is RS-232 and IF2 is RS-485. The RS-485 port is galvanically isolated to prevent signal interference while both the ports include Rx and Tx LED indicators. The HCM module has a PCMCIA Type II slot located on the front panel, this slot is used for memory cards and it supports ARCNET communication using compatible PCMCIA cards as well. It runs on the OS-9/68030 real-time operating system and it can be connected through a backplane to a B & R Maestro rack. It fits into standard rack slots such as HCR166-0 or HCR169-0. The HCM module’s slot 0 is reserved for the MCIF2 interface module and its front panel includes a rotary switch for setting the node number, while two LED indicators labeled as CD and CA shows the module status.
The HCMC03MC-0B module comes in a compact design for control cabinet installation along with a standard IP20 protection rating. Its bus arbitration is handled via the MCIF2 module when needed. This HCM module possesses 1 MB Flash PROM for firmware and OS storage while supports expansion through an optional memory or hard disk module. It meets CE and UL certification standards.
