The AKD-B00306-NBAN-0000 servo drive is manufactured by Kollmorgen as part of the AKD Servo Drives series. It functions as the power stage that links a motion controller to a synchronous or induction motor, converting line power into regulated output current. Within an automation cell, the drive manages position, speed, and torque loops so actuators follow commanded trajectories under varying loads and temperatures. This closed-loop behavior helps the connected axis remain stable during starts, stops, and speed changes.
The drive can deliver a continuous phase current of 3 Arms, which is the sustained motor current available during normal operation. For short acceleration bursts, it supplies up to 9 Arms for five seconds, giving extra headroom for rapid indexing or temporary peak loads. The power section is rated at 1.2 kVA, and it accepts 120/240 Vac on single-phase or three-phase input. With a mass of only 1.1 kg, the unit adds little weight to a control cabinet and fits easily on narrow DIN rails or backplates. The standard USA version aligns the product with North American electrical conventions and motor insulation practices. It uses the base drive version, so optional expansion features are not included in the standard configuration. Command signals are handled through an analog interface, making the drive compatible with ±10 V velocity commands or 4–20 mA process signals from legacy PLC hardware. This allows direct interfacing with older control systems that still rely on analog setpoints. The unit is supplied with no hardware extension for revision 8 and later, leaving the internal expansion bay unoccupied. The open expansion bay keeps the configuration focused on core motion control without added option boards.
