Product Description:

The AKD-B00306-NBAN-0000 Ethernet servo drive from Kollmorgen comprises both analog and digital inputs and outputs. This servo drive has a rated supply voltage of 120/240 V. The product must adhere to the specifications indicated by the manufacturer on connection conditions to avoid the possibility of it getting damaged. This device should be operated inside a closed control cabinet. The unit is not meant to be operated in a machine that fails to adhere to the applicable national standards or directives. It can be fitted with an external regen resistor with 33 Ohms rating if needed.

This AKD-B00306-NBAN-0000 has an integrated safety mechanism to monitor its temperature as well as the temperature of the connected motor. The product does not have any option cards connected to it. This device must be stored and transported only in its original packaging. The unit may trigger personnel injury as a result of electric shock because of incorrect commissioning. Its heatsink has a very high temperature during operation. This drive has coded terminals to make their identification process easy. The product should be accessed after operation only after confirming that the DC bus link voltage is less than 50 V. This device incorporates a Class J fuse with 600 VAC voltage rating and maximum 10 A current rating.

The AKD-B00306-NBAN-0000 is designed to be used only in its existing configuration. It meets Category C2 requirements for noise immunity when external filters are deployed for noise emission. This servo drive loses its torque and comes to a stop when its STO input features an open circuit. The product comes along with a copy of its safety guide and a DVD featuring the installation manual and setup software.

Fault Code Drive message (AKD display) Typical reason(s) Recommended corrective action
F106 NV memory data invalid Parameter area of the EEPROM is corrupted (often after interrupted firmware download)

• Reset parameters with WorkBench → Parameter Load → Factory Defaults.

• Power-cycle the drive. If fault re-occurs, reload firmware.

F121 Homing error Homing sequence did not complete (bad sensor, wrong homing mode, limits active)

• Verify home switch wiring & logic.

• Check HOME.MODE / HOME.DIR / HOME.FEEDRATE settings.

• Re-run homing.

F207 Control-board EEPROM corrupted – parameter stamp Stamp section of control-board EEPROM unreadable

• Power-cycle.

• Reload parameter set.

• If fault persists, replace the drive (EEPROM failure).

F208 Control-board EEPROM corrupted – parameter data Parameter data area unreadable Same steps as F207 (reload / replace drive if necessary).
F245 External fault User-configured digital input (DINx.MODE = 10) is active

• Check wiring to the configured DIN.

• Clear the input signal to reset the fault.

F305 Brake open circuit Motor brake coil not detected (broken wire, connector loose)

• Inspect motor brake wiring at X5/X6.

• Verify brake coil resistance.

F306 Brake short circuit Motor brake coil shorted or driver transistor failed

• Measure brake coil resistance; compare with spec.

• Replace brake or drive if resistance is < 10 Ω.

F308 Voltage exceeds motor rating DC-bus voltage higher than allowed for the connected motor

• Verify motor name-plate voltage.

• Reduce bus voltage or fit correct motor.

F401 Failed to set feedback type Feedback wiring/config doesn’t match selected protocol (EnDat, SFD, etc.)

• Check feedback cable & shield.

• Ensure FBTYPE matches encoder.

Reset after correcting wiring.

F404 Hall error Illegal Hall state (000 or 111) – broken Hall sensor line

• Inspect Hall signals at X10.

• Check motor feedback connector pins A,B,C.
