Combistop Spring Brakes

The Combistop Spring Brakes series is a KEB family of spring-set electromagnetic brakes designed for motor and machine braking in industrial applications.

The brakes engage when electrical power is removed and release when the coil is energized, allowing them to provide fail-safe stopping or holding action during operation and power-loss conditions. Across the range, the series includes machine-mounted dual-surface brakes for dry operation as well as C-face motor-mounted versions for NEMA frames from 56C through 254C, with mounting arrangements suited to horizontal or vertical installations and gearbox-coupled systems. Available configurations include standard and higher-torque versions, hand-release arrangements, microswitch monitoring, friction disk or flange options, washdown-style housings, and DC coil designs that can also be supplied through rectifier-based AC input arrangements depending on the model. The series covers a broad span of sizes and torque ratings, making it suitable for applications that need compact motor braking, reliable static holding, or more demanding dynamic braking duty.
