The 07.02.100-2917 is a spring-applied brake manufactured by KEB for the Combistop Spring Brakes series. Integrated into a motor or gearbox end shield, it applies clamping force when electrical power is removed, preventing unintended shaft rotation and holding a machine axis in position during shutdown or an emergency stop. The coil releases the brake when energized, while the spring mechanism restores braking force automatically after power loss. Its coil, rotor, and friction lining are contained within a compact housing for use in packaging equipment, hoists, and general automation systems that require fail-safe static holding torque.
The brake provides a static holding torque of 100 Nm, and its coil consumes 65 W when energized. A factory-set clearance of 0.3 mm between the armature and rotor supports the required response time. A continuous duty rating of 100% allows the coil to remain powered during prolonged operation without exceeding its thermal limit. The brake has an enclosure protection rating of IP20, so it must be installed inside a guarded enclosure that prevents contact with internal parts. Installation permits an angular deviation of 0.06 mm and mounting eccentricity of 0.5 mm to keep the friction surfaces properly aligned. The circular body has a diameter of 190 mm, allowing it to fit medium-frame IEC motor assemblies. The coil can be integrated with a compatible 24 V or 103 V brake power supply.
An adjustment travel of 1.0 mm allows the air gap to be reset as the friction lining wears. Service is required when the total lining loss reaches 4.0 mm or the remaining pad thickness measures 10.0 mm. The hub accepts shafts up to 45 mm in diameter without additional machining. Three M8 × 80 screws fasten the brake through a flange hole pattern consisting of three holes with a diameter of 9 mm. The mounting screws must meet a minimum strength class of 8.8 and must be tightened evenly to maintain proper alignment. Correct mounting prevents uneven contact between the armature and friction surfaces while preserving the intended braking response.
