The HVE Power Supply Units are second-generation drive-system supply modules that create the DC bus used by connected drive controllers, operating with an unregulated DC bus and handling regenerated energy through an integrated bleeder concept.
They are designed for three-phase industrial mains in the 380–480 VAC class (50/60 Hz) and generate a DC bus in the 530–670 V range, depending on the operating condition. The series uses a structured type code that identifies the line and design as well as the cooling concept, with air cooling via an internal built-in blower and nominal power classes such as 18 kW, 30 kW, and 75 kW. Regenerative handling capability scales by unit size, with defined continuous bleeder power levels and high peak braking capacity, plus maximum permissible regenerated energy limits by variant. System integration can include optional DC bus choke combinations and defined limits for how much external DC bus capacitance may be connected, allowing the supply unit to be matched to the application’s power and energy demands.
