Product Description:
The 5CFCRD.016G-06 is a CompactFlash storage module produced by B&R Automation for the 5CF Compact Flash Cards series. The device supplies removable solid-state memory that allows industrial controllers to retain controller software, recipes, and high-speed log files without relying on rotating disks. Its CompactFlash Type I form factor fits directly into the ATA-compatible slots integrated into many B&R PLCs and operator terminals, providing convenient access and secure data isolation.
With a capacity of 16 GB, the card stores large program files and production records while remaining compatible with the addressing limits of legacy embedded chipsets. Error-correcting code is implemented in hardware to detect and correct single-bit faults, while static wear leveling distributes writes across the memory array to reduce premature cell fatigue. Endurance is rated at 100,000 program-erase cycles per block, and the card supports up to 1600 TB of lifetime writes for intensive data-logging applications. The use of SLC flash lowers bit error rates and helps maintain predictable latency. S.M.A.R.T. attributes and an onboard controller report the card’s remaining service life. The ATA bus supports PIO 0-6, MWDMA 0-4, and UDMA 0-4 transfer modes, allowing the card to work with older and newer host timing requirements.
The card supports continuous operation from 0 to 70 °C, allowing it to function in control cabinets within this temperature range. During storage, it tolerates temperatures from -50 to 100 °C. It also maintains functional integrity at a relative humidity of 85% at 85 °C. Installation is permitted at elevations up to 4,572 m above sea level without derating, making the card suitable for equipment installed at high-altitude facilities. The NAND array retains data for ten years while the card is powered off, and the assembly weighs only 10 g, which places minimal mechanical load on card guides and connector assemblies.
