The 5CFCRD.2048-06 CompactFlash card is manufactured by B&R Automation for use in the 5CF Compact Flash Cards series. This removable solid-state medium stores boot files, application code, and historical process data for B&R PLCs and panel PCs. Its removable format allows controller data to be transferred or duplicated without connecting a laptop. The card is designed for continuous industrial automation, where vibration, temperature cycling, and frequent data updates can quickly damage consumer-grade flash media.
The storage capacity is 2 GB, providing space for operating system images, recipe libraries, and log files used in mid-range motion or HMI projects. The card supports a daily write volume of 109.59 GB per day over five years, indicating how much new data can be programmed each day before the expected wear limit is approached. Its flash blocks tolerate 100,000 erase-and-rewrite cycles, while the controller supports an aggregate lifetime write volume of 200 TB. Read integrity is rated at fewer than 1 unrecoverable error per 10^14 bits read, with onboard correction logic helping maintain stored data.
