Product Description:

The AKD-P01206-NAAN-0000 Ethernet AC servo drive manufactured by Kollmorgen is a robust, versatile, and compact drive designed for industrial requirements. The unit supports a plug-and-play motor setup with the manufacturer's motors. With high versatility, the device is capable of supporting multiple feedback devices. The drive’s continuous output power is 4000 Watts and its current rating is 12 Arms. It can be connected to one-phase and three-phase systems. The drive contains electrostatically sensitive components and hence devices that produce magnetic fields must not be mounted near it. The AKD servo drive should be set up using the WorkBench software. The servo drive features a built-in advanced dynamic braking mode that is fully functional in hardware. The device has an internal regen resistor and it supports connection to an external resistor if required.

The AKD-P01206-NAAN-0000 drive has a resistance of 15 Ohms for the internal as well as external regen resistors. The DC bus capacitance of the drive is 2460 microfarads. The drive features an STO function. This function should not be used when the drive has to be made inactive in the case of maintenance, cleaning, and repair operations, and during long inoperative periods. The interiors of the drive should be cleaned only by the manufacturer. Opening the unit under any circumstances tends to void the warranty. Spraying or immersing the drive should be avoided. Care should be taken that no liquid enters the servo drive. The drive does not contain any hazardous substances. The drive should not be used in certain environments that include potentially explosive areas and environments that are exposed to corrosive or electrically conductive acids, vapors, oils, and alkaline solutions. For safety purposes in the case of emergencies, the drive comes with an Emergency Stop function and an Emergency Off function.

Fault Code / Issue  Typical Cause Quick Fix / First Action
F501 – Bus Over Voltage DC-bus rises above limit due to aggressive decel, regen resistor saturated or high mains voltage Reduce load or lengthen decel ramp; verify/upgrade regen resistor; check incoming mains voltage
F502 – Bus Under Voltage DC-bus below threshold—low or missing AC phase Check all three AC phases, wiring & mains supply; correct input power before restart
F202 – External RAM Failed Internal hardware memory error Power-cycle drive; if fault recurs, contact Kollmorgen service or replace drive
F208 – Control-Board EEPROM Corrupted Parameter data in control-board EEPROM unreadable Restart drive; if fault remains, load defaults in WorkBench or replace drive
F232 – Power-Board EEPROM Invalid Data Invalid data detected in power-board EEPROM Restart drive; swap drive if error persists after parameter reload
F248 – Option-Board EEPROM Corrupted Option-board memory checksum failure Issue DRV.CLRFAULTS, reboot; replace option board/drive if needed
F121 – Homing Error Homing sequence could not finish—sensor or mode mis-set Check home switch wiring, verify HOME.MODE / HOME.DIR, restart homing
F305 – Brake Open Circuit Motor brake wiring open; brake coil not seen by drive Inspect X7/X8 brake leads and connector; repair wiring, retest
F401 – “Failed to Set Feedback Type” Feedback device or wiring incompatible/incorrect Confirm encoder type matches FBTYPE, reseat/replace feedback cable
Drive Will Not Enable (no code, “drive not enabled”) Hardware ENABLE signal or software enable bit missing Apply 24 V ENABLE to X1/X7; set DRV.EN = 1 in WorkBench; verify STO circuit
