Z2 Three Phase Motor Chokes

The Z2 Three Phase Motor Chokes series is a line of output-side reactors designed for installation between a drive converter and a motor in industrial drive systems.

Used as standalone chokes, these units reduce motor current ripple and limit the rate of voltage rise at the inverter output, which helps protect motor insulation while also reducing bearing currents, motor losses, and acoustic noise. The series covers a broad performance range with current classes from 2.6 A to 570 A, support for output frequencies up to 1600 Hz, and ratings intended for 400/480 V systems. Depending on size, the units use different terminal and bolt connection arrangements, with larger models requiring forced ventilation and higher-current mechanical mounting provisions for cabinet installation. The Z2 Three Phase Motor Chokes series can also be combined with matching capacitor modules to form a sine-wave output filter for applications that require a more nearly sinusoidal phase voltage at the motor terminals.
