Product Description:
The 31.Z2.F04-1003 is a passive line reactor produced by KEB within the Z2 Three-Phase Motor Chokes series. Installed between the mains supply and an inverter, the component limits differential current spikes, reduces harmonic distortion, and protects the drive’s input rectifiers during regenerative events. By inserting a small inductive impedance into each of the three supply conductors, it improves the power quality delivered to the variable-speed drive and extends the service life of the drive electronics and connected machinery.
The choke is rated for a continuous line current of 630 A, allowing it to accompany inverters on 400 VAC networks where three conductors carry the load. Its series inductance of 0.019 mH limits the rate at which current can rise, supporting harmonic attenuation and reducing dI/dt at motor startup. An impedance voltage of 20% means that the reactor drops one-fifth of the nominal line voltage at rated current, restraining harmonics without causing excessive conduction losses. The reactor produces a power loss of 945 W; this value helps determine the enclosure ventilation needed to keep the winding temperature within the insulation limits. The insulation system withstands up to 550 V line to line, providing headroom above the 400 VAC operating class for overvoltage transients.
Large conductors are accommodated by terminals with a cross-sectional capacity of 240 mm², so busbars or finely stranded cables can be connected without adapters. The windings contain 27 kg of copper, contributing to magnetic linearity during large current swings while also acting as a thermal reservoir. With a frame width of 500 mm, a depth of 325 mm, and a core height of 360 mm, the assembly reaches an overall height of 430 mm after the cover is installed. These dimensions must be considered when determining cabinet spacing and lifting clearance. The total mass of 97.0 kg must also be considered when selecting mounting brackets or vibration isolators, especially for vertical panel installations.
