The 30.Z2.F04-1003 is a three-phase series choke manufactured by KEB within the Z2 Three Phase Motor Chokes series. Positioned on the output side of a variable-frequency drive, the component smooths current waveforms, filters high-frequency harmonics, and shields downstream motor insulation from steep voltage edges. By providing additional inductive impedance, it also limits inrush current when large motors start. The choke’s passive design makes it a straightforward reliability aid for high-power conveyors, pumps, and forming machines used throughout industrial automation.
The choke has a rated current of 570 A, so it can remain unsaturated during full-load operation of large induction or synchronous machines. Its inductance of 0.021 mH provides impedance that opposes rapid current changes generated by PWM switching. A winding resistance of 0.39 mΩ adds only marginal conduction loss while enabling thermal modeling. Copper bus bars with a conductor cross-section of 240 mm² support the specified current density and simplify bolted terminations.
