The VACON NXP Air Cooled Drives are Vacon NX AC drives available in 500 V and 690 V classes for demanding industrial motor-control applications.
The series can be configured with external braking components such as a brake chopper and brake resistor, and it also supports operation with an active front end where DC-link overvoltage control is required. It includes advanced control features such as encoder-based closed-loop operation, PMS motor identification, mechanical brake supervision, and master-follower communication over optical-fiber SystemBus with DriveSynch. The protection structure covers conditions such as overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, earth fault, input and output phase faults, motor stall, motor overtemperature, motor underload, brake resistor faults, and fieldbus or option-board related faults. The drives also monitor heatsink and IGBT temperature, fan operation, thermistor inputs, and temperature sensor boards, making the series well suited for applications where thermal control, feedback reliability, and system-level fault handling are important.
