Product Description:
The NXL00235-C2H1SSS-00AA is produced by Danfoss for the VACON NXL Air Cooled Drives series. Intended for cabinet installation in automated machinery, this AC inverter converts a fixed three-phase supply into a variable-frequency output so that induction motors can follow changing process requirements rather than operate continuously at a constant speed. The model uses ambient airflow instead of liquid cooling, making it suitable for indoor installations where a liquid cooling circuit is unavailable.
The drive has a depth of 214 mm, a height of 391 mm, and a width of 144 mm. Cabinet layouts must provide sufficient clearance around the enclosure for wiring, ventilation, and access to its connections. Despite the integrated heat sink, the unit has a mass of 8.1 kg, which reduces the mechanical load placed on cabinet supports. The housing carries an IP21 rating, protecting internal live parts against finger contact and vertically falling water drops while still requiring indoor installation. Three digital inputs accommodate start, stop, and preset-speed commands. An open-collector output supplies status feedback at up to 50 mA and 48 V, while a form C relay rated for 24 VDC at 8 A supports external interlocking. The control interface can also be expanded through an OPT-AA option board when the application requires additional input or output functions.
The inverter has a nominal input current of 23 A when connected to a 400–500 V three-phase supply. On a 380 V supply, it can operate motors with a power rating of up to 11 kW. Operation from a 500 V supply supports motor power of up to 15 kW. The internal thermal model permits an overload current of 24 A for one minute, providing additional current for brief acceleration or transient load demands. Electromagnetic emissions fall within category C2, and the factory-installed radio-frequency interference filter supports operation on appropriate industrial power networks rather than residential grids. An internal brake chopper manages excess DC-link energy during deceleration, while an external braking resistor may be required for applications with frequent or demanding stopping cycles.
