Bosch Rexroth’s RZC Chemistry Modules are RD500 accessory modules designed to adapt RD500 AC drive converters for chemical and process industry applications.
They use the same housing height and width as RD500 converters in size classes A, B, and C, and their book-style construction allows inline cabinet mounting without intermediate spacing when installed on the 22.5 mm modular grid. The series is built around a NAMUR-oriented terminal concept and is available in versions with a NAMUR terminal strip or without it for fieldbus-oriented connections, with separate sections for power connections, signal wiring, and motor PTC thermistor connection. Electrical interface characteristics include floating digital inputs and outputs, electrically isolated analog inputs and outputs, PELV-based signal separation, and a PTC thermistor tripping unit certified for use with explosion-protected motors. The variants cover size codes 005 through 045 with 3-phase 400 V and 500 V classes, rated outputs from 4 kW up to 37 kW (model/voltage dependent), output frequencies up to 200 Hz, and ambient operating conditions specified for 0 to 40 °C operation.
