The CX5140-0100 is an embedded PC from Beckhoff Automation GmbH in the CX5100 series of products from the manufacturer. The embedded PC acts as a control system and must be used only in working environments that meet IP20 protection requirements. The quad-core processor has a clocking frequency of 1.9GHz. It does not make use of any operating system and does not support any TwinCAT runtime environment. The device features two Giga-bit capable independent ethernet interfaces. The product can be mounted in a terminal box or a control cabinet through a DIN rail. The unit is available with a one-year warranty period.

The embedded PC must not be operated in dusty and wet environments. The unit features a fanless and low power consumption design. It supports various gateway functions and connection options through an optional interface. The control system can be used for the implementation of PLC/motion control or PLC projects with or without visualization. The product has a compact size and does not support the inclusion of extension modules. To prevent the connectors from slipping, the screws of the DVI and fieldbus plug connectors must always be kept tightened. The device must make use of RJ45 connectors only with intact latches.

The control system must be operated in a temperature range of 0°C to +60°C. The power supply must be turned off when the front flap is being opened and cables or wires are connected to the embedded PC. The device may get damaged due to the polarity reversal of supply and data cables. It has a separate slot for microSD card and CFast card. The product is equipped with 4GB RAM that is not expandable. The unit supports E-bus or K-bus I/O connection through automatic recognition. The embedded PC is UL Listed and CE Certified.
