Product Description:

The CX5140-0120 Embedded PC belongs to the CX5000 series that supports passive cooling and compact DIN rail mounting. The embedded PC from Beckhoff is designed for control systems requiring reliable computing and I/O integration.

The CX5140-0120 embedded PC supports Windows 10 IoT Enterprise, Windows Embedded Compact 7, and Windows Embedded Standard 7 P variants. TwinCAT/BSD is also supported for BSD-based runtime environments. The embedded PC runs TwinCAT 2 and TwinCAT 3 (XAR), enabling scalable PLC and motion control tasks. Two Gigabit Ethernet interfaces allow reliable network communication. Four USB 2.0 ports provide connectivity for peripheral devices. A DVI-I interface supports display output. An optional multi-interface slot supports additional connectivity like RS232, PROFIBUS, or CANopen that must be factory fitted. Power supply input is 24 V DC with a tolerance between ±15% and +20%. The system consumes 16 W under typical load and up to 23 W during UPS charging. Passive cooling eliminates fan usage and reduces moving parts. The PC supports both K-bus and EtherCAT I/O that allows backward compatibility and advanced performance configurations. Auto-detection of terminal types is included, which simplifies configuration and system expansion.

The CX5140-0120 PC uses a magnesium housing that provides mechanical rigidity and electromagnetic compatibility. The compact unit maintains fanless operation that reduces maintenance frequency. TwinCAT 3 support allows integration of PLC logic and motion control on the same platform. The PC is designed for engineering setups requiring deterministic control tasks and fieldbus connectivity. It is an ideal choice for scalable control with real-time processing and fieldbus integration. The PC supports long-term operation and backward I/O compatibility. The embedded PC delivers stable operation with low power consumption and integrated persistent memory backup. It ensures control continuity during transient voltage dips.
