The HLT Braking Units from Bosch Rexroth IndraDrive comprise brake chopper modules designed for use with HCS04 converters to dissipate regenerative energy through an external braking resistor.
The converter controls and monitors the brake chopper, allowing overall braking performance to be increased without changing the base converter. The series includes sizes rated for 200 kW and 400 kW braking power with a 12 s on-time and a 240 s cycle time. Maximum braking power is specified up to 420 kW for the 200 kW unit and up to 750 kW for the 400 kW unit, with power dissipation of 550 W and 1,050 W respectively. They use a cabinet-mount form factor with 377 mm depth, heights of 950 mm or 1,150 mm, widths of 70 mm or 310 mm, and weights of 30 kg or 70 kg for integration as auxiliary components in IndraDrive systems.
