Product Description:
The HLT01.1N-00M6-A-007-NNIT braking unit is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the HLT Braking Units series. Installed across the direct-current link of a multi-axis drive, it diverts regenerative energy into an external resistor bank whenever the bus voltage exceeds its threshold. By turning excess kinetic energy into heat, the module protects inverters and servo controllers from overvoltage during rapid deceleration, load reversals, or emergency stops in packaging lines, presses, and material-handling systems.
The unit is designed for DC links up to 750 VDC. That value is the maximum continuous voltage the power semiconductors can withstand. During braking, it can dissipate up to 600 kW of power, allowing safe energy absorption from high-inertia axes. An enclosure rating of IP20 applies to the device itself, so it must be mounted in a closed panel. Its internal components are cooled by ambient air circulating within that enclosure. Environmental class 3K3 confirms suitability for industrial areas with non-conductive dust, moderate humidity, and modest temperature variations.
Proper cabinet layout preserves the unit's thermal margin during operation. Installation heights up to 1000 m are permissible without derating; beyond this point, reduced air density limits heat removal. Internal circuitry tolerates relative humidity up to 95% provided condensation does not occur. Mechanical planning must include a mounting offset of 110 mm behind the unit for cable routing and airflow, plus a vertical clearance of 100 mm above the housing so the heat plume can escape freely. The network variant marked For IT Nets indicates insulation coordination for ungrounded power systems, and the surrounding cabinet must reach at least IP54 to shield the open housing from dust and splashed fluids.
