Product Description:
The 8LVB23.B9030F300-0 is a compact gear motor from the 8LVB Gear Motors series produced by B&R Automation. It combines a permanent-magnet synchronous rotor with an integrated planetary gearbox so that machine builders can deliver steady rotary motion without external reduction stages. Within automated assembly cells and material-handling stations, the unit converts controlled bus power into positioning torque for axes that require limited installation space and simplified motor-to-drive wiring.
A DC link rated at 80 VDC supplies the inverter with the headroom required for rapid acceleration. Rotor position is returned through the EnDat 2.2 bidirectional encoder interface, and the inductive measuring system maintains a basic precision of 120 arcsec. Resolution reaches 19/12 bits for single-turn and multiturn data, respectively, while a nonvolatile counter records 4096 revolutions to support absolute feedback after power loss. The magnetic field is generated around four pole pairs, and the mechanical stage can deliver up to 4 Nm of continuous output torque to the load. Thermal behavior is monitored by a KTY 83-110 sensor, and the 38-minute thermal time constant delays winding temperature rise during intermittent duty so the drive can use short overload periods without exceeding insulation limits.
The housing has a protection class of IP54, preventing dust ingress and guarding internal parts against splashing liquids. A reflected rotor inertia of 0.26 kgcm² keeps servo response sharp when the motor is paired with low-mass fixtures during frequent starts, stops, and direction changes. For static holding or emergency stops, the stall torque reaches 1.35 Nm. Continuous operation is allowed at ambient temperatures up to +50 °C. Installation heights up to 2000 m are permitted without derating.
