Product Description:
The 8LVB22.B1015F100-0 is a gear-integrated servo motor supplied by B & R Automation within the 8LVB Gear Motors series. It combines a synchronous motor with a compact planetary gearbox in a single assembly. The unit delivers controlled rotary motion for packaging machines, indexing stations, and other positioning axes that require accurate speed reduction. Its integrated design also increases load capacity while limiting the installation space required inside industrial automation cells.
The gearbox provides a fixed reduction ratio of 15:1 and uses 2 planetary stages to reduce speed while increasing output torque. The drivetrain can accept a shaft speed of up to 6600 rpm without exceeding its bearing or gear-mesh limits. Downstream of the reducer, peak output torque reaches 2 Nm, while the continuous stall torque is 0.68 Nm. These torque levels support the selection of suitable couplings, pulleys, and direct-drive fixtures without requiring a separate external reducer. Rotor inertia is 0.14 kg cm², which supports responsive acceleration when the motor is paired with a compatible digital drive. Four pole pairs establish the electromagnetic field pattern, while a 35-minute thermal time constant and KTY 83-110 temperature sensing help protect the windings during prolonged operating cycles.
Position feedback is provided by an EnDat 2.2 multi-turn encoder with an 18/16-bit resolution format for closed-loop motion control. The encoder achieves a measured accuracy of 120 arcsec, supporting repeatable alignment during indexing and positioning tasks. An internal battery maintains absolute position tracking for up to 65536 revolutions, allowing the controller to retain position information after a loss of power. This absolute tracking capability removes the need for a homing movement whenever the machine is restarted. The enclosure has an IP54 protection rating, guarding the electronics and gearset against limited dust ingress and water splashes commonly encountered inside machine frames.
