IL Ironless DDL Motors

The IL Ironless DDL Motors series is a family of ironless linear direct drive motors built in several size groups, including IL06, IL12, IL18, and IL24, with multiple winding options that trade off force constant, current demand, and maximum speed.

Across these sizes, the series ranges from compact coils with continuous force around 21 N and peak force around 60 N up to larger units with continuous force above 150 N and peak force up to 1200 N, while maximum speed extends as high as 10 m/s depending on the winding. The motors are defined by consistent electrical data such as continuous and peak current, back EMF constant, inductance, and line-to-line resistance, along with mechanical values including motor constant, thermal resistance, coil mass, magnet way mass, coil length, coil width, and installed height over the magnet way. The larger IL18 and IL24 versions use taller coil assemblies and heavier magnet ways for higher force output, while the smaller IL06 and IL12 versions provide a more compact package for lighter-duty high-speed linear motion. Overall, the IL series is intended for precision linear applications that need ironless direct-drive operation, high acceleration potential, and a choice between lower-current high-force windings or higher-speed winding variants within the same motor size.
