API Servo Drives

API servo drives are all-digital servo amplifiers offered in multiple continuous current ratings (from 3 to 20 A) and organized into three families: Digital, Intelligent, and Centennial.

Each unit integrates the amplifier, power supply, controller, and heatsink into a compact standalone package to simplify installation and speed replacement in the field. Depending on model, the drives operate brushless DC servomotors as analog current or analog velocity controllers, with additional command options that include step/direction, step-up/step-down, and quadrature. The Intelligent and Centennial versions add onboard motion control capability so they can store and execute motion programs, run standalone or networked multi-axis systems, and support advanced motion features such as cam, spline, and master/slave relationships using secondary encoder inputs. Setup, tuning, and programming are handled through a Windows-based configuration environment with guided wizards, supported by serial communications and extensive built-in I/O for enables, limits, home, status outputs, and fault reporting.
