Product Description:
The PS-3306I-E belongs to the API Servo Drives series from Danaher. It is a servo drive intended for closed-loop control of brushless servomotors in automated machinery. The unit converts DC bus power into precisely modulated phase currents so that position, velocity, and torque follow motion commands from a PLC or motion controller.
This unit is rated for a continuous power output of 2.3 kW, while its internal electronics dissipate only 75 W into the control cabinet, aiding thermal planning. The drive provides two analog command channels that accept velocity or torque references. Each channel is digitized at 10-bit resolution for precise incremental control. For discrete signaling, the drive offers seven digital inputs, and two of those lines also serve as high-speed capture points for position latching. An isolated encoder supply of +5 VDC powers the required encoder with Hall feedback, simplifying sensor wiring. Output functions include four transistor drivers that can sink 35 mA per channel for brake release, status relays, or external interlocks. Voltage supervision trips at 400 VDC on the high side and 90 VDC on the low side to protect downstream components.
Dynamic braking is handled by an external regeneration module capable of supporting a peak load of 3 kW. Continuous dissipation is limited to 150 W through a resistor with a resistance of 47 ohms. The transistor controlling this path turns on when the DC bus reaches the regeneration activation level of 377 VDC, preventing the overvoltage fault threshold from being reached during rapid deceleration or load reversals. Two dedicated high-speed inputs, in addition to the standard digital lines, allow immediate armature current reduction if an emergency stop is activated. The four digital outputs can indicate status conditions or drive contactors, enabling straightforward integration into machine safety circuits.
