The PS-3306I-E-C104 is a servo drive produced by Danaher and supplied under the API Servo Drives series. It modulates DC bus energy into a controlled three-phase output, allowing PLC commands and encoder feedback to establish precise velocity, torque, or position profiles on compatible brushless motors. These motors are commonly used in packaging stations, gantries, and electronic assembly lines that require accurate, repeatable motion.
This model has two differential analog command ports with 10-bit resolution, allowing separate velocity and torque commands without signal crosstalk. The analog inputs share ground isolation with the motion controller, while four unisolated digital outputs handle status signals and fault relays. Continuous motor current is rated at 6 A RMS, supporting steady process loads with shaft power up to 2.3 kW. During acceleration or rapid servo correction, the inverter can supply a peak current of 12 A RMS for short intervals while internal junction monitoring limits thermal rise. Feedback from motor-mounted encoders and Hall sensors returns through a 14-pin, dual-row connector powered by a regulated 5 VDC source on the logic board. The unit uses convection cooling, so no external fan kit is required, and cabinet heat dissipation reaches 75 W when all channels operate at nominal current.
Dynamic braking energy is diverted to an external resistor network, and the regenerative transistor switches on when the bus reaches 377 VDC. The factory-matched component is a 47-ohm resistor that can absorb 150 W continuously or handle short peaks of 3 kW without exceeding its surface temperature limit. Each output transistor can sink up to 35 mA, making the digital outputs suitable for optocouplers or relay coils. Built-in diagnostics monitor encoder power, excessive temperature, and bus overvoltage, while the four digital channels transmit clear fault states to the connected control system.
