The IndraControl VAM Machine Operator Panels from Bosch Rexroth are machine control panels intended to operate control units on CNC machines, commonly applied on equipment such as lathes, milling machines, and machining centers.
They are designed for mode selection and manual machine operation, combining operator hardware like configurable keypads with LED indication, feed/spindle override rotary switches, machine pushbuttons, an E-STOP button, and a key switch with an authorization concept (with a handwheel module available on VAM 40.2 variants). The panels communicate through a PROFIBUS DP interface, where input states are reported to the master control and outputs are commanded by the master. Power architecture is based on 24 VDC PELV supplies with separate logic and I/O supplies (UL and UQ) that must be galvanically isolated, and the unit provides 16 digital 24 V inputs and 8 digital 24 V outputs with status indication. For cabinet integration, the series is specified with a protected front suitable for industrial environments (IP54 front / NEMA Type 1) and defined mounting, wiring, grounding, and EMC-related installation requirements.
