The KVR Power Supply Modules from Bosch Rexroth Indramat are regenerative supply units for the modular Indramat AC drive system, designed for direct connection to 3 × AC 380 - 480 V (50/60 Hz) to supply multiple servo and main drive modules from a common DC link.
They convert the incoming mains to a regulated DC-link voltage for the power stages and also provide the system’s required signal/control voltages via the signal-voltage bus. During braking, the KVR can operate regeneratively and feed energy back to the mains, while an internal bleeder/braking circuit handles braking energy when the mains is absent or cannot accept regeneration. The module includes an integrated mains contactor for power isolation, a DC-link short-circuit function used for controlled braking of synchronous drives under defined fault conditions, and monitoring/diagnostics for supply status. For cabinet design and sizing, KVR units are engineered for high short-term overload capability and are combined with specified line components such as chokes and additional DC-link capacitance to match the required continuous power and installation conditions.
