The KVR 1.2-30-3/S380 belongs to the KVR Power Supply Modules series from Bosch Rexroth Indramat. It is used in multi-axis drive systems to provide a stabilized DC link, absorb regenerative energy, and feed auxiliary control electronics. In a shared supply arrangement, this allows several connected drive controllers to draw from one common intermediate circuit instead of using separate supply sections. By combining power conversion and energy recovery in one assembly, the unit reduces cabinet wiring and supports stable operation of connected axes.
The link circuit maintains 320 V as the common DC bus potential for connected inverters. Its nominal throughput is rated at 30 kW, and brief overload conditions can raise DC bus demand to 90 kW when the connected axes require short bursts of higher power. Excess energy is handled by an internal bleeder with a dissipation capacity of 40 kW, and during dynamic braking the supply can return up to 15 kW to the mains instead of converting all of that energy into heat. The module also supports 24 kW of continuous mechanical power, which suits medium-size motion systems with repeated acceleration and braking cycles. Phase monitoring is built in so incorrect mains rotation can be detected before the drive system is enabled.
The control transformer consumes 500 VA, leaving most of the available input capacity for motor-related power conversion and the supply of internal monitoring circuits. Its 24 V rail can deliver up to 11 A for peripheral loads, while the auxiliary outputs also provide ±15 V at 2 A for encoder, brake, and I/O circuits used by the connected system. A module height of 390 mm and a width of 215 mm support side-by-side mounting in a standard cabinet and help align the unit with other Indramat drive components. The DC link can absorb up to 100 kWs of regenerative energy between discharge events, which is useful in applications with frequent deceleration and repeated energy return from the motor side.
