Product Description:
The 8V1090.001-2 is a servo drive module produced by B & R Automation for the 8V1 ACOPOS Servo Drives series. It interfaces between a plant’s three-phase supply and the servomotor windings, generating controlled pulse-width-modulated voltages that execute torque, speed, and position commands from the machine controller. This unit serves as the axis power amplifier in packaging lines, pick-and-place cells, and other motion applications where rapid response and accurate tracking are required.
For continuous production cycles the drive can deliver 8.8 Aeff of current, and it tolerates surges up to 24 Aeff for quick acceleration or impact loads. Its output section supports 4 kW of mechanical power while the line-side inrush remains limited to 7 A at 400 Vac. During aggressive deceleration, an integrated resistor absorbs 200 W on a steady basis and withstands a 7 kW peak to protect the DC link. Carrier modulation reaches 598 Hz at a switching frequency of 10 kHz, giving smooth motor waveforms with reduced audible noise. The bus can feed a connected load of 10 kVA without derating, and a 1 A holding-brake output maintains motor shaft position when the inverter is disabled. A permissible motor cable length of 25 m lets actuators be mounted remotely from the cabinet.
The enclosure stands 375 mm tall, spans 70.5 mm in width, and extends 235.5 mm in depth, yet the overall mass is only 4.4 kg, which eases handling during installation. A 470 µF DC-link capacitor moderates voltage ripple so upstream drives on the shared bus are not disturbed by load transients. When the unit powers up, installers should allow a 7 A starting current to charge the capacitor safely. The compact profile leaves room in the cabinet for auxiliary devices while maintaining clear airflow paths specified for the 8V1 platform.
