S Brushless Motors

The S Series brushless servomotors are offered in NEMA 23 and NEMA 34 frame sizes and are built as a medium-inertia, high-performance family intended for demanding torque, speed, and positioning applications.

The design uses a 6-pole, three-phase wye winding with high-energy neodymium-iron-boron magnets to deliver high torque per frame size, including continuous stall torque ratings up to 13.8 lb-in in the NEMA 23 frame and 45 lb-in in the NEMA 34 frame, with peak torque capabilities listed up to 41.5 lb-in and 131 lb-in respectively. Standard feedback configurations include primary commutation devices such as Hall sensors or a frameless resolver, with optional secondary optical incremental encoders (1000 or 1024 line) depending on the selected feedback combination. For environmental durability and washdown use, the motors are described with rugged TENV construction and sealing consistent with IP65/NEMA specifications, and they include built-in thermal protection using a PTC thermistor. Ordering options cover items like shaft/mounting variations, optional shaft seals and holding brakes, selectable windings tailored for different torque/speed requirements, and multiple termination styles such as MS connectors, flying leads, and terminal box arrangements.
