The MSM Series Brushless Servo Motors comprise industrial servo motors intended to be used only as part of a controlled motion system with a transistorized electronic amplifier, and they are not designed for direct connection to a power supply or for use with thyristor drives.
The series includes 460-V class motors across multiple frame sizes with continuous/peak torque ratings and base speeds ranging from about 2000 to 6000 RPM, allowing selection by inertia, torque, and speed requirements. Feedback and integration are supported through standardized motor connectors and feedback options that include incremental encoder, high-resolution Sin/Cos encoder, and absolute encoder variants, with the feedback connector also carrying temperature sensor signals for motor protection functions. Mechanical installation guidance is built around maintaining control performance and bearing life by using torsionally rigid couplers or reinforced timing belts, keeping shaft loading within the radial load ratings (based on 20,000-hour L10 bearing life), and avoiding axial shaft load. The motors are rated for industrial conditions such as 0 to 40 °C ambient temperature and non-condensing humidity and optional 24 VDC brakes are defined as holding brakes rather than safety restraints or dynamic stopping devices.
