The RZS Sinusoidal Filters series is a three-phase LC output filter that installs between a converter and a three-phase motor to shape the motor-side voltage and current into a more sinusoidal waveform.
By limiting voltage peaks and surge stress, it reduces strain on motor winding insulation and helps lower additional motor losses, especially at higher speeds. The filters are suited for installations with long motor supply lines or multiple parallel motor lines (such as group-drive layouts) and they help reduce interference on the motor cable where higher EMC performance is required. The series supports common 380–400 VAC and 500 VAC class systems, with maximum motor-side output frequencies up to 200 Hz (380–400 V) or 100 Hz (500 V), and a total connected motor-cable length up to 400 m (with shorter limits when shielded cable is used). Proper use requires operating the converter with a pulse frequency of at least 8 kHz, staying within the filter’s rated current, and accounting for a small load-dependent voltage drop across the filter.
