The RZS02.1-6-080 sinusoidal filter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth helps to cut down on the noise coupling between the unshielded motor cable and other sensitive cables in the RD500 drive system. This filter operates as a low pass frequency filter. The product is thus also known as LC filter. The device transforms the rectangular PWM output signal generated from motor drives to a smooth sine wave voltage that has a low residual ripple. The unit assists in extending the lifespan of the motor that is a part of the drive system by reducing its insulation losses and stress. It safeguards the motor winding insulation against overvoltage and voltage spikes.

The input terminals of the sinusoidal filter are referred to as U1, V1 and W1. The product supports the generation of parasitic earth currents. The device must encompass a shielded cable connection between its input and the inverter output. It has a connecting voltage of 3 x 380VAC to 400VAC with +/-15% tolerance. The unit has an output frequency ranging from 0Hz to 200Hz. There are essentially two types of sinusoidal filters. They are differential mode filters and common mode filters.
