RZM Motor Filters

Bosch Rexroth’s RZM motor filters are RD500 output-side accessory filters used to reduce transient overvoltage at motor terminals caused by pulse converters and long motor cables, while also lowering cable leakage current and improving EMC behavior.

The series is offered for both 3-phase 380–400 V and 3-phase AC 500 V connection classes. For 380–400 V applications, theunits support output frequencies up to 200 Hz with total motor-cable length up to 150 m (or up to 300 m at 100 Hz), and for 500 V applications the limits are 120 m at 200 Hz or 200 m at 100 Hz, with shielded cables requiring a 50% reduction in those lengths. The RZM spans multiple current classes from smaller units such as 8 A / 10 A up to larger units such as 350 A, with nominal currents at 4 kHz and 8 kHz. Series connection is defined with U1/V1/W1 as filter input and U2/V2/W2 as filter output, and the filters are intended for converters operating with pulse frequencies from 4 kHz to 8 kHz.
