MS2S Synchronous Servomotors

The MS2S Synchronous Servomotors from Bosch Rexroth comprise three-phase permanent-magnet servo motors designed for installation in industrial machinery and intended for operation with compatible Rexroth controllers rather than direct connection to the three-phase mains.

They are built with self-cooling (IC410) and are specified for 0–40 °C ambient operation (with derating up to 60 °C) and installation altitudes up to 1,000 m without derating. The series uses a fully closed IP65 construction (with shaft sealing ring), a flange interface similar to DIN 42948, and a cylindrical shaft end per DIN 748-3 with defined concentricity/runout tolerances for repeatable machine mounting. For feedback and commissioning, MS2S motors use a ctrlX SENSE motor encoder system with a digital, magnetic 18-bit multiturn encoder capable of absolute indirect position capture over 65,536 motor revolutions, and motor temperature data is transmitted digitally for protection functions. Electrical integration is simplified through a single-cable M17 circular connector (rotatable quick-lock), and an optional electrically released 24 VDC holding brake is available for holding at standstill, with brake-energy reduction supported via an Eco mode after release.
