HZF Filter Modules

HZF filter modules are combining filters, often implemented as commutation chokes, used in drive power systems to condition the supply side and reduce line-side interference and commutation effects generated by the connected supply unit.

The series uses a structured type code that identifies the product family and line, design level, cooling method, nominal power class, and any additional design variant, with natural convection used as the standard cooling approach. Common nominal power classes in the range include 10 kW, 25 kW, and 45 kW, providing practical sizing steps for different supply-unit power levels. The modules are designed for 50/60 Hz operation and provide continuous nominal current capability that scales with size, such as 18 A, 45 A, and 80 A depending on the power class. Performance characteristics vary by model and include specified base losses, load-dependent loss factors per kW of DC bus power, total loss at maximum continuous connected power, and corresponding mechanical differences such as weight across the power classes.
