These filters are connected at the mains connection of the related power supply unit to suppress interference and current leaks from the motor cables. They must be used in conjunction with the manufacturer’s HVR range of power supplies. The combining filters can be mounted next to the right or the left of the power supply unit. The filters support natural convection cooling mode.

Indramat HZF combining filters are associated with three types of losses: basic losses, power losses and load-dependent losses during the operation phase. The combining filters have an operating frequency of 50Hz to 60Hz with a tolerance of +/-2Hz. They are intended to be used between 5°C and 45°C and at an installation elevation of 1000m over sea level for operation with rated data and without power reduction. • The combing filters come equipped with terminal studs at their top to establish a protective earth connection for safe operation and a cable shield connection at both the top and the bottom.
• These Indramat filters feature looped bus connections at their X1 connecting points that are required when drive units are mounted on either side.
• The combining filters encompass a circuit breaker and two outputs on their front panels for the control voltage supply.
• The filters should always have a DC bus connection at their X11 connection points to ensure their proper functioning.

HZF combining filters must be operated only within the allowed mains voltage range. These filters should have shielded supply lines to avoid the occurrence of guided interference emissions. One control voltage outlet is connected to the control voltage inlet of the HVR power supply.

The combining filters are integrated with protection switches for the control voltage. The Indramat combining filters must never be operated with HVE power supply units and on asymmetric mains as this can cause them to get heated up. They come with mounted touch guards and strands as well as grounding brackets for DC bus and ground connection respectively, to adjacent devices.
