The HDD Drive Controllers from Bosch Rexroth Indramat are part of the DIAX04 digital intelligent drive platform and use a modular construction to build compact single- or multi-axis drive packages around one shared supply unit.
The series is designed to operate with AC motor families such as MKD, MHD, 1MB, and 2AD, making it suitable for rapid-response servo and main-drive duties in equipment like machine tools, packaging, printing, textile, robotics, and handling systems. Each controller is delivered as a configured unit, where a basic power section is outfitted with a command/communication module, a software module, and optional plug-in modules to match the required drive interface and functions. For system integration and service access, the controllers use an internal module bus connection between neighboring units and provide a serial commissioning/diagnostics interface that can run as RS-232 or RS-485 for tools such as DriveTop/SercTop. When the application requires additional energy handling beyond the supply system, the drive package can be expanded with external components like a braking resistor module for dissipating braking energy and a capacitor module for high start-stop duty cycles.
