Product Description:

The CP2607-0000 is the creation of Beckhoff. It is a Panel PC and it has several applications related to industrial automation.

The CP2607-0000 Panel PC employs a 3 1⁄2 inch motherboard that lets it work efficiently in tight spaces. The 128 kb non-volatile RAM component on the CP2607-0000 Panel PC keeps vital system data like operational states and settings safe when power outages occur. The device features a microSD card slot as its dedicated storage access point allowing you to use additional expandable memory without carrying heavy hard drives. This Beckhoff CP2607 PC features multi touch gestures such as pinch and swipe for a more interactive, user-friendly and modern interface experience. It has a basic storage ability up to 512 MB with an option to expand significantly up to 16 GB suitable for lightweight operating systems. The prime feature in this module is that graphical processing is built directly into the CPU which optimizes size and power consumption while ensuring decent performance for visual interfaces. It is an all in one computer with an integrated touchscreen specifically designed for industrial or specialized human machine interface uses.

The CP Panel PC Systems series module comes with interfaces such as 2 USB 2.0, 1 RS232 and 1 USB in the front which provides sufficient connectivity for peripherals like barcode readers, external drives or serial devices. It includes an Ethernet 10/100BASE-T which provides reliable wired network connectivity for data communication, updates or system integration into industrial networks. This module is featured with a 1 GHz Arm Cortex - A8 processor which is a low power but capable processor known for efficiency in embedded and real time applications.

Symptom / LED pattern Probable cause First corrective steps
PWR LED off — panel does not start 24 V DC missing or < 22 V at X101 Measure the supply, replace/retorque cabinet fuse and spring-clamp plug, check PE ground
PWR LED green (blink) and no OS boot micro-SD system card absent or corrupted Reseat / image a spare µSD, check SATA ribbon and 24 V aux fuse
Green PWR LED, screen black Panel in Cleaning/Dim mode Press the front buttons or exit with Beckhoff Display-Control tool; connect an external DVI to verify video
Touch registers erratic clicks Missing functional earth or moisture on bezel Bond the PE lug, activate Cleaning Mode, clean/dry the glass surface
Undervoltage resets during motor start-ups PSU can’t hold ≥ 22 V under in-rush Up-size the 24 V source or add Beckhoff C9900-U212 buffer module
TC LED red (STOP) after boot TwinCAT runtime halted by watchdog From Engineering PC switch TwinCAT to RUN and investigate PLC task logs
TC LED blue (CONFIG) on power-up RTC coin-cell depleted → date lost Replace CR2032 behind rear cover, reset BIOS clock, restart TwinCAT
Random reboots above 50 °C cabinet Passive chassis > 55 °C spec Add fan tray or cabinet A/C; keep CPU core < 85 °C
USB devices drop intermittently 5 V rail overload or ESD on long leads Use a powered hub, add ferrite cores, reroute USB away from motor cables
Panel hangs during write access (HDD LED solid) File-system check or flash wear Allow FSCK to finish; schedule regular OS shutdowns to avoid dirty power-offs
Model Display / resolution CPU family Typical power Cooling Best use case
CP2607-0000 7″ 800 × 480 ARM Cortex-A8 @ 1 GHz  ≈ 12 W  Fan-less Ultraportable HMI where cabinet depth is tight
CP2612-0000 12″ 800 × 600 ARM Cortex-A8 ≈ 16 W  Fan-less Mid-size 4:3 screens for legacy layouts
CP2615-0000 15″ 1024 × 768 ARM Cortex-A8 ≈ 20 W  Fan-less Larger SCADA graphics without fans
CP2616-0000 15.6″ 1366 × 768 ARM Cortex-A8 ≈ 22 W  Fan-less Widescreen UI with same cabinet cut-out depth
CP2712-0010 12″ 800 × 600 Intel Atom E38xx ≈ 18 W  Fan-less x86 platform when soft-PLC needs Atom CPU
CP2216-0020 15.6″ 1366 × 768 Intel Celeron G3900TE ≈ 40 W Fan-cooled More processing power, four USB 3.0 ports
LED / symptom What it means
PWR LED off Panel has < 22 V or no supply at X101
PWR LED red – rapid flash Internal DC-DC fault; device entered protective shutdown
PWR LED green (blink) “Busy/Stand-by” — firmware is loading or μSD not yet mounted
Panel stops in BIOS μSD/SSD missing or corrupted
TC LED red (STOP) TwinCAT runtime halted by watchdog
TC LED blue (CONFIG) Controller left in configuration mode (no PLC scan)
Touch registers false clicks Functional earth (PE) missing — touchscreen needs solid ground
Repeated undervoltage resets 24 V dips during motor inrush; buffer/UPS or bigger PSU needed
Loss of date/time at power-up CR2032 RTC battery empty; replace via rear cover
File-system errors after hard power-off Panel was switched off without OS shutdown; use 1-s UPS (C9900-U212) to flush data
