The TBM 1.1-20-W1/115 bleeder module is the first version of such modules by Bosch Rexroth in the TBM series. The module tends to get heated in the course of its functioning. The built-in heatsink blower with a nominal 115V voltage rating cools it through the circulation of air internally. The data sheets and manuals of the connected device and the bleeder module must be checked to determine their compatibility. The chopper causes additional energy to flow through the bleeder resistor when the bus voltage reaches the threshold value. This prevents the bus voltage from increasing beyond the threshold voltage.

There is usually a direct connection between the AC drive and the bleeder module. The product is used to add the regenerative and continuous power in the drives used for automation. The device features a high DC bus voltage rating. The capacitors of the connected drive may not get discharged completely and tend to encompass dangerous voltage that can trigger electric shock if the bleeding resistor fails to perform its function. A small value bleeder resistor helps in speeding the bleeding process but will in turn consume more power. The bleeder module comes with a warranty from Wake Industrial for one year.

The bleeder module has chances of getting overloaded if its resistor is defective or the AC drive has very high braking energy when there is a power shutdown. There must be sufficient clearance distance surrounding the bleeder resistor and flammable objects like cables and their channels must be kept at a safe distance from this resistor. This module is a good choice if the drive has a maximum regenerated power of less than 40kW.
