Product Description

The TBM 1.1-20-W1 bleeder module comes with a 2 series code. The module works with the manufacturer’s TVR series of power supplies. It is integrated with a chopper as well as a resistor. The product encompasses a rugged design coupled with high performance. The unit can be deployed in multiple industries for various applications. The device comes fitted with an inbuilt blower that has a 115VAC voltage rating. The inverter of a motor gets set to the regenerative mode as a result of the motor’s braking action. As a result, the bus voltage starts increasing and reaches the threshold value. When this happens, the chopper starts bleeding the extra energy through the bleeder resistor.

The bleeder module should be checked for compatibility with the device that it is connected to. The bleeder resistor must be mounted in close proximity to the capacitors as much as possible. The capacitors will not get discharged and retain dangerous voltage for several days in the event of a bleeder resistor failure. This ensures that the threshold voltage is never exceeded. The module also assists in reducing the load rating of the power supply unit. This aids in voltage regulation in the absence of an active regulator and when there is a change of normal load. The unit comes with a peak 20kW power rating.

The inbuilt blower helps in cooling the bleeder module through internal air circulation. The power dissipation of this product offers the assurance of the safety of the connected product in both ON and OFF states. The size of the bleeder resistor should be chosen such that the capacitor discharge takes place in minimum time and does not cause any interference with the associated power supply.
