The Bosch MDD112C-N-030-N2L-130PB1 is a synchronous servo motor. It is part of the MDD series of industrial motors. The motor is deployed in combination with a compatible servo controller. A sensor on the motor known as an encoder measures motor speed and other parameters. Information about motor parameters is sent to the servo controller. In addition to controlling motor parameters, the servo controller provides power for the motor. The power is transmitted via a power cable that terminates on a power socket located on side B of the housing. The output shaft on the MDD112C-N-030-N2L-130PB1 includes a keyway. The keyway prevents relative rotation and facilitates effective torque transfer from the motor to the machine. The motor is supplied with an optional blocking brake. The holding torque rating of the brake is 14 Nm.

The brake is a safety device that is designed to prevent motor movements that could cause injury. The brake only allows shaft movement after a 24 Volts DC electrical signal is applied. The MDD112C-N-030-N2L-130PB1 supports digital servo feedback. Nominal speed rating of the MDD112C-N-030-N2L-130PB1 is 3000 RPM.  The motor housing is suited to natural convection and surface cooling. The difference between the two cooling methods is that natural convection relies on movement of ambient air whereas surface cooling relies on movement of forced air created by a cooling fan or blower. The improved heat dissipation realized with surface cooling allows the MDD112C-N-030-N2L-130PB1 to motor to deliver higher levels of output torque and current. Centering diameter of the motor is 130 millimeters.  The MDD112C-N-030-N2L-130PB1 is a flange mounted device. Its protection rating is IP65. Only qualified and trained personnel with relevant experience should handle and install the motor.
